KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
The Knights of Columbus are a Fraternal Catholic organization founded by Fr. Michael J McGiveny in 1882, to strengthen the faith of Catholic men, to build up our families as domestic churches, and safeguard them; to stand in solidarity with our parish priests and bishops, and serve our brothers and sisters in need, whether they be the hungry and needy of our community, a family suffering the from the ravages of natural disaster, or caught up in the destructive violence of war.
There are over 1,900,000 members worldwide in over 15,350 Councils. Every Council plays a vibrant role in the Knights of Columbus. In Manitoba there are over 7,700 Knights operating in 92 Councils. The Knights offer a rich heritage of fraternity, family, and volunteer service to church and community. Strong families are a priority with the Knights of Columbus and you will find opportunities for you and your family to experience the good work of the Knights.
If you are a Catholic man in good standing with the Catholic Church and at least 18 years of age, the Knights of Columbus could be the organization for you. You can become involved in council activities to the extent your time allows. The Knights offer you an opportunity for friendship and fellowship with people who share the same beliefs and who recognize the same duty to God, to family, to your parish, and the community.
